“Susan Werner, a clever songwriter and engaging performer, brings literacy and wit back to popular song.” The New Yorker

With six albums under her belt, an active touring career throughout the U.S. and a string of accolades, Susan Werner has become one of the defining artists of the folk music genre.

Farm girl Susan Werner was raised in rural Iowa but began her professional music career in Philadelphia, after studying classical voice at Temple University. Inspired by a Nanci Griffith concert, Werner left behind her opera training and began performing as a singer-songwriter at coffeehouses throughout the northeast. She self-released her first album “Midwestern Saturday Night” in 1992 and then went on to put out “Live at Tin Angel” the following year. In 1995 came her breakout album, BMG/Private Music’s “Last of the Good Straight Girls,” but a corporate reshuffle left her and her folk-pop masterpiece behind. Werner went on, recording two albums even better than her previous work, adding some country and soul sounds to her signature vocal stylings with the help of Nashville multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Darrell Scott, who produced “Time Between Trains” and Colin Linden (Blackie & The Rodeo Kings), who produced her 2001 “New Non-Fiction.”

Always ready to reinvent herself, in 2004 Susan Werner released her album of instant songbook classics “I Can’t Be New” on Koch Records. For years she incorporated cabaret-style numbers in her live performances, exchanging her guitar for a piano (when there was one to be had), and she’d been asked by her audience to put all those songs in one recording. Fans and critics alike sang her praises: the All Music Guide calling it “a brilliantly constructed, soulful, and cleverly tender effort by a songwriter and musician who is in such complete command of her gifts that it’s almost scary.”

In 2005 Susan Werner made a splash on satellite radio and in the blogosphere with her “alternative national anthem” entitled “My Strange Nation.” For this song, Werner adopted the musical style of a battle hymn, and added lyrics that encompass both the poetry and hypocrisy innate to the United States.

2007 brings the release of Werner’s latest endeavor, “The Gospel Truth,” a collection of originals she describes as “hymns for the spiritually ambivalent.” This project, scheduled for release in early March, surveys the wide variety of attitudes toward the Church in America and incorporates styles ranging from traditional bluegrass gospel, in songs such as “My Lord Will Trouble Me,” to a hand clapping rouser for agnostics entitled “Probably Not”

It’s a voice not soon forgotten. Rozlyn Sorrell shares a finely tuned mix of popular and sacred-themed repertoire in a concert performance of broad appeal, sung deep from the heart.

“At the end of the song, she slid up as the orchestra slid down in a stylized keening over the dead an effect that raised goose bumps…” The Honolulu Star Bulletin

As Rozlyn Sorrell hit her final note on Gershwin’s “I Loves You, Porgy” when appearing as special guest vocalist with the North Carolina Symphony in the Booth Amphitheatre last year, there was that glorious moment of silent “awe” en masse — before more than 7,000 concertgoers rose to their feet in thunderous acclaim. It doesn’t really get any better than that… A New York native, Rozlyn spent a number of years performing in music and film in Los Angeles before relocating to North Carolina where she operates a private vocal studio while expanding her concert touring and work in film, TV and music. She has performed or recorded with artists including Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Al Jarreau, Cece Winans and others. Film and television appearances include Diplomatic Immunity, Nightmare on Elm Street III, General Hospital and Matlock. Sorrell’s remarkable dramatic abilities and six-octave vocal range have taken her into some of this nation’s largest cathedrals where she has appeared as guest soloist. Her integrity, passion and unique vocal talent ring with equal clarity, whether she’s performing classics from the American Popular Songbook or concentrating on traditional spiritual and contemporary gospel repertoire. Sorrell was a featured soloist on the “Hour of Power” and a principal cast member in both the “Glory of Christmas” and “Glory of Easter” at Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral, and is endorsed by Christian Music Presenters.

Glenn Singer’s unique comedy act has left people laughing around the world. Don’t miss this “out –of-the-box” Pinehurst Forum Season Finale.

Glenn Singer specializes in visual comedy using hilarious optical illusions, a dry delivery, and a warm conversational style. His spoof of a circus equestrian act will leave you laughing again every time you think about it. Appealing to all ages, all around the world. He is guaranteed to delight.

He has been touring at major International Festivals, Corporate Functions, and in Theatres, Schools, and Universities on six continents since 1983.

Bio in his own words:

“Glenn Singer was born in the year of Sputnik into the home of a rocket scientist, and subsequently raised by dwarves. No matter what humble circumstances he found himself in throughout his childhood, Glenn was never at a loss to use his towering intellect to achieve small things in magnificent ways.

Invited to leave private school on his first day in grade one, Singer embarked on a scholastic career that surprised no one. Having reached the age of consent with no convictions, Glenn decided to go into Theatre. On the way he was sidetracked by a street performance and it still shows.

Having performed for over 15 years on every continent except Antarctica (”it’s just a matter of time”) Glenn has secured a place for himself at the very bottom of the big time with engagements at such places as Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Universal Studios in Hollywood, and Ed’s Big Top in Hurricane.”

“I’ve always liked the circus. I loved the clowns, although I couldn’t help feeling sorry for the animals. So now I put on a real live wild animal act, only funnier.” Sight gags, optical illusions, audience involvement. Everything you need to have a good hard laugh. Don’t miss El Gleno Grande.
