David Michael Wolff made his orchestral debut as piano soloist at the age of twelve. Three years later he entered the University of Washington on full scholarship majoring in Romance Languages and Piano Performance as a student of Robin McCabe. He later moved to New York City and obtained his Master’s Degree under the direction of Byron Janis, celebrated pupil of Vladimir Horowitz.

Wolff has won numerous prizes in international competitions, including grand prize in the Naomi Management International Competition in New York City. He was then presented in recital at Carnegie Hall, where he continues to appear regularly, both as pianist and conductor. In 2004, he won five consecutive first prizes in international competitions in Europe and as a result was engaged for numerous solo recitals in Europe. Hundreds of performances across North America, Europe and Asia have solidified his reputation as one of the foremost performing artists of his generation.

After firmly establishing his career as a concert pianist, Wolff took up the baton and began a second career as a conductor. After three years of study in Rome, he began performing throughout Italy, conducting opera (La Traviata, La Bohème, and Tosca, among others) and symphonic works, as well as conducting piano concertos from the keyboard. Wolff is Principal Conductor of the Manhattan Chamber Philharmonic as well as the newly formed NC-based Carolina Philharmonic (formerly West Side Chamber Orchestra). Last season’s engagement as Guest Conductor of the Fayetteville Symphony and CFRT’s co-production of Porgy and Bess earned him rave reviews.

Wolff took part in the internationally renowned St. Bart’s Music Festival in the French West Indies and was Assistant Conductor of an orchestra comprised of principal players from the leading orchestras of the world. Among its members were principal players from the New York Philharmonic, MET Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony and the LA Philharmonic. While on the island (on just two days notice), he re-orchestrated Puccini’s Madama Butterfly to cover the absence of six players in the 55-piece ensemble. More recently, at the Cape Fear Regional Theater, Wolff conducted more than twenty near-capacity performances of West Side Story, and performed for President Bill Clinton’s Global Initiative in Arkansas.

The All-American Chorus is a nonprofit musical group composed of Division Troopers representing every unit within the Division. An informal organization, the All-American Chorus was formed in November 1967 to sing at Sunday services in the Division Chapel. At that time the chorus consisted of about 15 members.

During a period of increased emphasis on the All Volunteer Army, the chorus performed at several professional and college baseball and football games as part of the pre-game of halftime ceremonies. Since it was formed, the chorus has performed for several military and civilian dignitaries including General of the Army Omar Bradley, the Governors of more than 20 states, senators and congressmen, members of the Association of the United States Army, and the senior command structure of the Army.

The 82nd Airborne Division’s “All-American” Chorus performs throughout the continental United States. Though their primary mission remains serving the soldiers of the U.S. Army and Fort Bragg, their off-post performances continue to increase, so much in fact that they have become one of the Army’s greatest recruiting tools. Appearing in their maroon berets, ascots, and highly spit-shined jump boots, the troopers of the “All-American” Chorus are truly ambassadors for the 82nd Airborne Division.

Everyone is raving about The Three Waiters® singing waiters. One of the world’s most successful corporate and private event acts.

Conceived in Sydney, Australia in 1997, The Three Waiters ® is the brainchild of Opera Singer and Society Photographer Mark Bradley who had attended over 2,500 events over a ten year period before coming up with the idea. Mark then asked opera singer David Haydon and singer/actor Darryl Lovegrove to join him to make up the original trio.

The rest is history. The Three Waiters ® is no doubt the most successful singing waiters act in the world, having performed nearly 10,000 shows throughout 74 countries. It is arguably the most popular act of any kind available for any special event.

Every year, 14 senior Yale men are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group.

The Whiffs, as they refer to themselves, were formed in 1909 as a quartet in Mory’s Temple Bar, a legendary private Yale club. The Whiffenpoofs (who were originally a select group within Yale’s glee club) became a hallowed tradition in a school known for hallowed traditions. Only 14 men are invited to join each year and they must all be entering their senior year. They sing everything from the traditional Yale fight song to jazz standards to Motown, and often perform original pieces written for the group by one of its members. They take their repertoire across the country and across the world and their touring schedule of more than 200 shows annually is so industrious that many of them take a year off to focus solely on the Whiffs.

Today the group often performs Porter songs in tribute.

The Whiffenpoofs donate part of their proceeds each year to the Whiffenpoof Children’s Literacy Initiative, which aims to create 15 literacy centers in 12 countries, including the United States.
